"winnowing fork is in His hand"
Illustrating the transience of the wicked in contrast to the stability of the righteous, who are grounded in God's law.
"Matthew 3:12
"His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
"the grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God stands forever"

Collection VIII:
Threshing and Winnowing
Often used metaphorically to mean separating what is valuable or important from what is worthless or irrelevant. It originates from the agricultural process of threshing and winnowing, where the valuable grain (wheat) is separated from the inedible husks (chaff). In ancient Israel, the process of separating wheat from chaff was used symbolically to describe divine judgment.
John the Baptist's Proclamation describing Christ’s role as the judge who will separate the righteous from the wicked.
"cutting the wheat from the chaff"
"Psalm 1:4-6
"The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous."
"the grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God stands forever"

"refiner and purifier"
The refining process reflects God's work in purifying His people, separating sin (impurities) from righteousness.
"Malachi 3:2-3
"He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, and they will bring offerings in righteousness to the LORD."
"the grass withers, the flower fades,
but the word of our God stands forever"
